EP/Council conciliation reaches positive outcome on new directive aimed at strengthened control of mining waste

Brussels, 30/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the Parliament and Council reached a conciliation agreement on the future management of extracting industry waste in the EU. On 29 November, the Parliament unanimously approved the joint project resulting from conciliation procedure which could not be avoided regarding a proposal aimed at strengthening the current directive 2004/35/EC (EUROPE 9041 and 9022).
