Brussels, 15/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Barcelona process, the Conference of the Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), the Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the Catalunia Region (Spain) is organising for 25 and 26 November in Barcelona a Euromed Regional Conference Barcelona +10, which is a sort of summit of the presidents of the regions of countries taking part in Euro-Mediterranean partnership. The conference - which is being held on the eve of the summit on 27 and 28 November in Barcelona - is to encourage debate and exchange good practice in regional partnership, decentralised cooperation and good governance in the Euro-Mediterranean zone. It will be opened by the presidents of the CPMR, Claudio Martini, and the Catalunia government, Pasqual Maragalla. Participants will include the European Commissioner for External Relations and Neighbourhood Policy, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, High Representative for CFSP Javier Solana, CoR President Peter Straub, Vice-President of the European investment Bank (EIB) and representative of the Euro-Mediterranean facility for investment and partnership, Philippe de Fontaine Vive. Work will close with the Euromed Regional Conference Barcelona +10 and Euromed Conference on towns and cities Barcelona +10 and with the signing of a joint declaration on the towns and cities of Euro-Mediterranean partnership.
