Brussels, 08/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Moroccan ambassador to the EU, Menoar Alem, and Heinz Hilbrecht, director in charge at the European Commission of the trans-European transport and energy networks, signed on Tuesday the agreement that organises Moroccan participation in the Galileo project. Morocco will not participate financially but will contribute to implementation of projects relating to Galileo. The agreement, which is due to be signed on 15 December, has still to receive the endorsement of the EU Council and then be ratified by the Member States. Morocco is the first Arab country to commit itself to cooperation of this kind. Talks are underway with Saudi Arabia.
