08/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the EU welcomed the fact that Mexico has completed its ratification procedure to the Statute of Rome on the International Criminal Court. Mexico's ratification of the Statute of Rome brings the number of States party to the ICC to a hundred. The ICC was set up to fight impunity for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. "Mexico will bring a valuable contribution to the Court's work", states the EU.
