International community in Geneva to send financial aid to Asia - World Bank provides $500 mil, EU provides EUR 30 mil

Brussels, 07/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - On arrival in Vietnam, on the first leg of an official 10-day tour of South East Asia from 6-16 November, Markos Kyprianou, European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, said the European Commission would be giving South-East Asia EUR 30 mil to help them tackle the bird flu virus. Austrian Presidency reports that at a meeting in Hanoi with Vietnam's farm minister, Cao Duc Phat, Kyprianou said that EU should have reacted more quickly to help...
