04/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - The September 2005 issue of 'Elan' magazine prints the speech by Paul Collowald, formerly deputy spokesperson at the European Commission, Director General of Information at the European Parliament and press advisor to French President Pierre Pfimlin, when awarded 'Officier de l'Order national de la Legion d'Honneur' status in France by minister Francois Loos. Paul Collowald talked about his meetings with Robert Schuman, not forgetting current events and his joy at seeing animated debate in Europe, because this is a democracy. On the European Constitution, he said that putting himself in the shoes of citizens trying to understand, I would not throw the first stone at them because information should have started much further up, and in terms of information policy, we have gone from lack to overdose. Debate has gradually become tinged with irrationality and amnesia, he added.
