03/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - Europe Insertion Rhône-Alpes is organising its 4th European meeting in Lyons on 17 and 18 November on the theme of the basic knowledge that is required by European citizens today. The meeting is aimed to heighten citizen awareness on the problem of illiteracy, to reflect on ways to come to grips with the problem and to exchange experience on practices and initiatives set in place in the various countries. Luce Pépin, from DG Education and Culture at the European Commission, will on this occasion present the European framework concerning the key competences in European employment strategy.
