03/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - During its session of 30 November/1 December in Brussels, the European Parliament will vote on the proposed resolution, which was approved unanimously by the committee on culture and education, on the EP support for the Olympic Truce, a tradition developed in ancient Greece to protect athletes during the Games, and which was revived in 1992. On this occasion, and ahead of the Winter Olympic Games Turin 2006, the former member of the European Parliament Mercedes Bresso, president of the Region of Piedmont, is to hold a support evening for the Torino Truce 2006, to be held in the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels on 30 November, with the collaboration of the organising committee for the 22nd Winter Olympic Games and MEPs Luigi Cocilovo and Mario Mauro.
