Verhofstadt calls for “clear choices” to bring EU out of crisis, if necessary with “avant-garde”

Brussels, 19/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt urged the European institutions and the Member States to give “fresh impetus” to European integration to bring the European Union out of the “grave crisis of confidence” in which it has been plunged since the French and Dutch no-votes to the Constitution. The crisis is aggravated by the persistent deadlock over the 2007-2013 financial perspectives and the loss of support from European citizens...
