Brussels, 11/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - European External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner will visit Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, on 12/13 October to discuss implementation of the next stages of the EU's Neighbourhood Policy. The EU-Tunisia Neighbourhood Action Plan, which came into force on 4 July this year, sets out a series of detailed, concrete measures and a regular, flexible review procedure. It covers political dialogue, human rights activity, migration, counter-terrorism, trade, and greater integration of Tunisia's economic, social and scientific structures with those of the EU. Before leaving for Tunis, Ferrero-Waldner said it was now time for both sides to demonstrate their desire to implement their commitments and come up with tangible results.
