GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/ecofin council

11/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - Tuesday's ECOFIN Council in Luxembourg agreed on the Basel II Directive (suitable own resources for investment and credit companies) and the 8th Company Law Directive (auditing of annual and consolidated accounts). The directives will now be formally adopted without debate at an upcoming Council meeting. The EP held its vote in first reading in September (see Europe 9038 and 9039).
