10/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, the European employers organisations Unice welcomes the European Commission's 5 October initiative to manage structural changes in European manufacturing. Unice President Ernest Antoine Selliere said: 'Unice supports the plan presented by the Commission today on the condition that it is implemented without delay and that results in terms of innovation, simplification of legislation and creation of competitive markets can be measured.' The Commission's industrial policy for the 21st century is composed of 'horizontal' and 'industry-wide' initiatives (see EUROPE 9042).
