Brussels, 10/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - The EuroMed Transport Forum, set up by the Barcelona Process, is being held in Brussels on 11 October. This will be the 7th such meeting. The main item on the agenda is drafting the final declaration to be submitted to EuroMed transport ministers at their 15 December meeting in Marrakech. The Forum of high-ranking transport officials from Member States, the European Commission and Mediterranean countries, will also examine the operational decisions to be submitted to ministers. The Forum will discuss the opening of shipping and aviation to competition and the creation of a harmonised body of technical safety rules. The planned measures will be set out in a Blue Paper (the colour of the Mediterranean) to be published before the Marrakech conference.
