10/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - Without debate on 6 October, the Council adopted a directive on port safety, completing safety measures introduced in Regulation 725/2004 on ship and port infrastructure safety, extending the Regulation to all ports where the Regulation applies. The Member States have 18 months to transpose the directive from the date it comes into force.
