19/07/2005 (Agence Europe) On 18 July, the Council adopted a common position ahead of the adoption of the regulation of the Parliament and the Council, on the introduction into Community law of the international code for the safe operation of ships and for pollution prevention (ISM code), which was adopted by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). Two other decisions were adopted on the same day: -the signature and conclusion of the protocol modifying the agreement on maritime transport between the EU and its Member States, and the People's Republic of China, further to enlargement; -the accession of the European Communities to regulations 94 and 95 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), on the approval of motor vehicles for the protection of the passengers in case of front and side impact.
