Research effort still far too low

Brussels, 19/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The key figures for 2005 on science, technology and innovation have shown worrying trends in investment in research, development and innovation in Europe. The rate of growth in the intensity of R&D (R&D expenditure as a percentage of GDP) has been falling off since 2000 and is currently close to zero.
