30/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 30 June, the Ambassador of Luxembourg to the United Nations tabled the ratification instrument of the framework-convention of the WHO on the fight against smoking to the Secretariat of the United Nations in New York. The Luxembourg Minister for health, Mars di Bartolomeo, and the European Commissioner for Health, Markos Kyprianou, welcomed this new step towards the effective implementation of this convention, which entered into force on 28 February 2005.
