Poland postpones its referendum

Brussels, 22/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - Like the United Kingdom, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland and the Czech Republic, Poland has decided to postpone its referendum on the European Constitution- initially planned for October- indefinitely. "A referendum will take place in Poland, but its date is not yet clear", President Aleksander Kwasniewski told the press on Tuesday, after his consultations with Prime Minister Marek Belka and the President of the Parliament, Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz.
