Amnesty International questions future Presidency on aberrations of “Fortress Europe”

Brussels, 22/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - As the British prime minister is to present the programme of Britain's EU Council Presidency to the European Parliament on Thursday, Amnesty International has published an open letter denouncing the “human cost of Fortress Europe”. The human rights organisation tells Tony Blair of its concerns based on three reports that it published on Monday on asylum policy in the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain.
