23/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 23 May, the Member States of the EU decided to launch the EU advisory and assistance mission for security reform in the Democratic Republic of Congo, EUSEC-RDC, on 8 June. The common action on the details of this year-long operation was adopted by the Council on 2 May. The French General Pierre Joana is the head of this mission, which will comprise eight experts seconded by the Member States and the institutions of the EU.
