Austria ratifies European constitution

Brussels, 11/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the Austrian parliament's ratification of the European constitution was almost unanimous (only one vote against by the FPO). This makes Austria the seventh Member State to approve the text after Lithuania, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Greece and Spain. During the debate Chancellor Wolgang Schussel recommended a vote in favour of a “peaceful, social, strong and democratic Union” thanks to the Constitution, which he said preserved...
