Greenpeace calls for systematic application of principle of substitution in REACH regulation

Brussels, 09/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - With the Parliament's work on the new proposed REACH legislation getting into full swing (see EUROPE 8939 and 8941), Greenpeace has renewed its calls for the principle of substitution to feature in the legislation on chemicals. In support of its position, Greenpeace quotes from the latest analyses it commissioned of the Dutch laboratory TNO Environment and Geosciences to assess the quantities of chemical substances in twelve consumer goods (DVD players...
