Commission calls on Bank of Italy to clarify measures on ABN Amro's takeover bid on Antonveneta

Brussels, 27/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission's Directorates General for Competition and the Internal Market have each written to the Bank of Italy. The former is calling for clarifications on measures taken by the Italian competition authorities preventing the Dutch bank ABN Amro from acquiring more than a 20% stake in the Italian bank Antonveneta.
