25/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Academy Europe of the European Confederation of Independent Trade Unions (CESI) is holding a conference on the theme “Social Europe and enlargement - Towards a reinforced solidarity” on 2 June in Brussels. Proceedings will be opened by the Presidents of the Academy Europe, Peter Heesen, and the CESI, Valerio Salvatore. There will be four topics for discussion: 1) social dialogue and the social aspects of enlargement; 2) the general aspects of enlargement; 3) the place and role of social sector organisations in an enlarged Europe; 4) the contribution of the social partners to the promotion of the enlarged EU.
