List of experts for president's policy analysis

Brussels, 25/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - As we previously announced, the European Commission has set up another group of external experts (GPA) to provide “political analysis” for President Barroso and European Commissioners with “impartial advice” for formulating recommendations on EU policy. Depending on their portfolios, Commissioners will take part in meetings of the (GPA: Group of Political Analysts), which will be chaired by Mr Barroso. The GPA consists of: - Special Advisers Dusan Sidjanski, Founder and former Director of the Department of Political Science at the University of Geneva, President of the European Centre for Culture. Loukas Tsoukalis, Professor at the University of Athens and the College of Europe, Bruges; President of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP); formerly Oxford University and the London School of Economics. José Cutileiro, Ambassador, Former George F. Kennan Professor (modern international relations), Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, Former Special Representative of the UN Commission on Human Rights for Bosnia-Hercegovina and Yugoslavia, Former Secretary General, Western European Union. Members Yves Meny, Professor, President of the European University Institute in Florence Hellen Wallace, Director of the Robert Schumann Centre of the European University Institute in Florence, Associated Professor of Contemporary European Studies at the Sussex European Institute. Thérèse Delpech, Research Associate, CERI ; Director of Strategic Affairs in the Commissariat (CEA), in Paris Timothy Garton Ash , Director of the European Studies Centre and Gerd Bucerius Senior Research Fellow in Contemporary History of St. Anthony's College Oxford University, Governor of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy. Christophe Bertram, Director of the Research Institute of the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik, Berlin Jerzy Lukaszewski, Former Rector of the College of Europe, Bruges and Poland's Ambassador to France .
