Human rights in the world, situation of Roma - financial markets, social protection- Fishing in Mediterreanean

Brussels, 25/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - During the plenary session next week in Brussels, the European Parliament will focus discussions on the human rights situation in the world and the situation of the Roma (EUROPE 8923), the level of integration of the financial markets in the EU, as well as fishing in the Mediterranean (EUROPE 8927).

Wednesday 27 April (15H-22H): - communication from the Commission on its current decisions - Coveney report on human rights in the world an in 2004, as well as EU policy; - declaration by Commission on the situation of the Roma in the EU; - Cabrnoch report on modernisation of social protection and quality health care;;- Hughes report on amendment to regulation by European Agency for Health and Safety at Work (consultation); - van den Burg report on progress in integration of financial markets in European Union; - Lax report on amendment to regulation on mechanism for reciprocity (consultation); - Mitchell report on funding for development cooperation (co-decision, first reading); - Coelho report on common position from the Council on amendment to application of the Schengen agreement on access to vehicle number plate certificate services in Schengen Information System (co-decision, second reading); - oral question from Karl-Heinz Florenz, president of the committee on the environment, on the Commission's strategy for the first conference of the signatories to the international convention on persistent organic pollutants.

Thursday 28 April (from 9H-14H): - Klass report on draft directive on protection of underground waters from pollution (co-decision, third reading); - Fraga Estevez report on amendment to regulations on sustainable use of fish resources in the Mediterranean.
