25/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - The euro-zone industrial new orders index fell by 2.6% in February 2005 compared to January 2005. The index dropped by 6.9% in January. EU25 new orders decreased by 1.7% in February 2005, after a fall of 7.0% in January. In February 2005 compared to February 2004, industrial new orders rose by 2.9% in the euro-zone and by 4.7% in the EU25. In February 2005, and among the Member States for which data are available, total manufacturing working on orders rose in five Member States and fell in eleven. Increases were registered in Poland (+10.0%). The largest decreases were recorded in the Czech Republic (-3.9%), Denmark and Germany (both -3.3%). In year on figures chemicals and chemical products increased by 9.1% in the eurozone and by 8.6% in the EU25. Textiles and textile products decreased by 7.4% in the euro-zone and by 8.2% in the EU25. Transport equipment fell by 2.7% in the euro-zone but rose by 11.3% in the EU25. The largest rises were recorded in Poland (+53.3%), Malta (+34.7%), Latvia (+26.0%). Decreases were registered in the Czech Republic (-8.9%).
