Brussels, 24/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - EU-3: Germany, France and the United Kingdom, together with Iran have decided to continue negotiations. This decision was made at the end of Wednesday's steering committee meeting in Paris, following the three months of discussions since the Paris agreement of 15 November 2004 (EUROPE 8913)). Iranian negotiator Cyrus Nasseri explained to AFP that no final agreement on definitive suspension of uranium enrichment activities had been found and that a new negotiation session would take place in the weeks to come. Mr Nasseri said that each side continued to have its own points of view and that he expected the EU to work towards: its accession to the WTO, provision of spare parts for its civil aviation, supply of at least one or several Airbuses and a trade and technological cooperation agreement in exchange for “objective guarantees demanded by the Europeans that its nuclear program is purely of a civilian nature. Negotiations took place in a “positive and constructive climate”, declared a European diplomat quoted by AFP. According to the French minister of foreign affairs, a quarter of the negotiations session behind closed doors between the Iranians and the European experts on nuclear issues is expected to take place in Geneva soon.
