24/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development in Europe (OECD, the Asian Development Bank and Transparency International are organising a meeting in Djakarta on 7 and 8 April with experts of the countries hit by the tsunami of December 2004 in order to tackle the threat of corruption during the provision of humanitarian aid and aid to rebuilding the region. The aim is to adopt guidelines for future disaster relief efforts, a press release states, specifying that the six countries concerned (Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Maldives and India) have made the prevention of corruption in relief work a priority.
