Brussels, 07/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - The EU is seeking to begin negotiations with Israel on an agreement for fighting organised crime. The go-ahead for beginning negotiations was given on 24 February to Europol by the EU Council of Ministers. This decision, which targets “operational” aspects of the action against organised crime, is fully within the logic of the “action plan” for Israel as part of the European Neighbourhood Policy, explained the European Commission.
