EFSA returns favourable opinion on marketing of 1507 GM maize, to be used by European Commission to authorise it in food

Brussels, 07/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published its favourable opinion on Monday for genetically modified maize 1507 developed by the American group Pioneer Hi-Bred International/Mycogen Seeds to be marketed. This transgenic maize was notified to the European Commission for authorisation in the EU for the purposes of human and animal feed, under the Novel Food/Novel Feed regulation (regulation 1829/2003/EC).
