Parliament satisfied with its President's presence at EU/USA Summit, but judgement on Mr Bush's initial addresses remains qualified

Strasbourg, 22/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - Reactions were measured in the ranks of the European Parliament's political groups following President Bush's speech on Monday in Brussels. They are very pleased at the presence of President Josep Borrell at the EU/USA Summit on Tuesday, an attendance which was not initially planned. The President of the PPE-DE group, Hans-Gert Poettering, hoped that "this incident will not be repeated in the future", recognising that the Council and the Commission...
