Brussels, 11/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - A coordination meeting on the fight against terrorism took place in The Hague on 10 February and was attended by representatives of Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, plus the United States and Canada. In a press release, Michael Kennedy voices the satisfaction of Eurojust at this “first important meeting” with the US and Canada, stressing that “in order to ensure that terrorists are caught and brought to justice, it is important to learn lessons and improve mutual cooperation”. As for the leaders of the US delegation, the assistant of Attorney General Bruce Swartz and the Attorney for Massachusetts, Michael Sullivan, they thanked Eurojust for holding “this important multi-national meeting between terrorist prosecutors and investigators”. Eurojust, they stress, plays a key role in anti-terrorist coordination between the US and the EU, which has always been “remarkable”.
