Brussels, 11/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the prime minister of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Vlado Buckovski, will hand over his country's responses to the European Commission's questionnaire on its request for EU membership to European Commission President José Manuel Barroso and Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn. The questionnaire, which takes stock of the situation in Macedonia especially on legislative matters, will be submitted in Brussels during a ceremony. The Commission will give its opinion on the subject of possibly opening membership talks between the EU and Macedonia partially on the basis of the responses provided by the Balkan Republic. The Commission's opinion may be given this year, but no exact date has yet been set.
