24/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Taxpayers Association of Europe is strongly opposed to any reform of the Stability and Growth Pact, and is calling for it to be left untouched. In a press release, it states that any “relaxing” of the Pact would lead to a “dramatic increase in public debt”, and would endanger the euro. Those who recently pleaded for more “flexibility” come from Member States which have not stuck to the Pact, avers the association.
