Despite 7.7% rise in December 2004, European car industry expected to face another tough year in 2005

Brussels, 17/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - According to estimates published by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association ACEA on 14 January, car registrations amounted to 1,043,669 units in December 2004 in the EU15 plus EFTA (Norway, Switzerland and Iceland), representing an increase of 7.7% (+7.1% in the EU-15) with respect to December 2003. Final figures for 2004 show 14,516,879 units registered in Western Europe (EU-15 + EFTA), representing a growth of 2.1% (and 2% in the EU-15)....
