06/01/2005 (Agence Europe) - The President of the Committee of the Regions (CoR), Peter Straub, appealed to local and regional authorities on Tuesday to do all they can to contribute to the enormous solidarity shown by all EU citizens to the tsunami victims. Straub said 'Let us hope that those in the worst-affected areas are able to rebuild quickly. We must ensure that the relief effort continues long after the disaster has disappeared from our television screens.'
