Innovation and enterprise forum in Germany to consider latest trends in innovation and start-ups

Brussels, 03/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - Organised by the European Commission's Enterprise Directorate General as part of the 6th Framework Programme for R+D, the fourth European Innovative Enterprise Forum will be held in Karlsruhe (Germany) on 5/7 December. The first forums were held in Vienna (1998), Lyons (2000) and Stockholm (2002). This year's forum will look at funding programmes, innovative clusters, the internationalisation of SMEs and the regulatory environment as catalysts for new markets. Panels will consider now innovation can stimulate business and how the future European policy for innovation can be developed. Particular attention will be paid to non-technological aspects of innovation and the key role paid by European towns and cities. At the forum, the PAXIS prize for excellence in the transfer of innovation will be awarded to projects and cross-regional policies selected from the 22 most innovative regions of Europe.
