22/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Italian press has stated that whereas German Finance Minister Hans Eichel has denied any joint initiative with Italy for a speedy reform of the Stability Pact, the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has written to the President of the European Council Jan Peter Balkenende to ask him to include the issue on the agenda of the European Council of 17 December.
