PES pleased with solution found for Kovacs, but definitely not pleased with Kroes being kept in place for competition

Brussels, 05/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - Speaking to the press on Friday before the extraordinary meeting of the Conference of Presidents of the political groups with Presidents Barroso and Balkenende, Martin Schulz said the PES is on the whole pleased with the reshuffling of the Barroso Commission. It is, however, "definitely not" pleased with the fact that Neelie Kroes is being kept for the competition portfolio, and with the fact that the Netherlands has "not budged an inch" on this.
