03/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - A press statement has indicated that during a debate on 19 October in Brussels with Democrats Abroad Belgium (DAB), the Union of European Federalists of Belgium (UEF), presided by former MEP, Fernand Herman (for which Pico Lantini is Secretary General), participants highlighted the high convergence level between the US analysis and that of the European federalists on international policy. The communiqué illustrated the multilateral vision of the world, the role of the United Nations (where the UEF is calling for a single and strong leadership for Europe at the Security Council, the balance between the world powers (according to the DAB, the US expect the Europeans to assume their responsibilities in defence matters).
