Brussels, 03/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - José Manuel Barroso, president-designate of the European Commission, will be participating on 4 November at the Chateau du Bouchout, in Meise (near Brussels), in the traditional pre-European Council summit of the European People's Part (EPP) presided by Wilfried Martens. Eleven Heads of government are expected at the summit: from the Netherlands, Jan-Peter Balkenende, from Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker (next president of the European Council), from France Jean-Pierre Raffarin, from Italy Silvio Berlusconi, Austria Wolfgang Schüssel, Greece Kostas Karamanlis¸ Portugal Miguel Santana Lopes, Slovakia Mikulas Dzurinda, Estonia Juhan Parts, Malta Lawrence Gonzi eand Croatian prime ministre, a candidate country, Ivo Sanader. Other participants include the President of the EPP-ED at the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Pöttering.
