Valéry Giscard d'Estaing will not take part in examination by French constitutional council

Brussels, 22/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - During the French Constitutional Council, which is to examine the draft European Constitution on 29 November, the Chairman of the European Convention, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, who is today a member of the Constitutional Council, will ask to be "exempted" from playing a part in coming to the Council verdict as he cannot be both judge and party to the text.
