Parliament calls for negotiated solution to conflicts in Ossetia and Abkhazia - Solana says EU is doing what it can to help Georgia

Brussels, 15/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the situation in Georgia and Ossetia, expressing its full support to Georgia's sovereignty and territorial wholeness and stressing the need to reach a negotiated solution to the conflicts in Abkhazia and Southern Ossetia. To reach peace in South Ossetia, complete demilitarisation (except for OSCE peace-keeping forces) is a precondition, the resolution states, after being approved by 538 votes...
