Jacques Barrot says regional policy is major tool for making EU more competitive - EU economy is driven by the regions, says Peter Straub

Brussels, 20/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Committee of the Regions (CoR0 and the European Commission are organising the second Open Days in Brussels on 27-30 September. More than 2000 regional policy decision makers and stakeholders, half from the new Member States, will be attending the events, more than 70 in all, involving more than a hundred regions.
