Brussels, 20/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - FERA (Federation of European Film Directors) congratulates Dutch Minister Medy van der Laan for her active involvement in European audiovisual policy. Ms van der Laan is organising a conference on audiovisual policy in Europe within the framework of the Dutch presidency of the EU Council of Ministers and the Utrecht Film Festival, on 25, 26 and 27 September. At the conference, discussions will be held on ways to promote the creativity of the cultural industry in Europe. FERA welcomes the part being played by the minister "which goes to show the Dutch Presidency wishes to encourage cooperation in the film industry at world level and foster national and European cooperation, including in third countries".
