Eurostat unravels “time use” and European pastimes, revealing who spends most time on housework, friends or walking the dog

Brussels, 29/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - Among Europeans, Germans spend the least time at work (paid or otherwise) and the most time meeting friends. In Slovenia and Estonia, women spend 4 hours a day on housework and everywhere else in Europe, women continue to do most of the household chores. Some examples are provided in the Eurostat study that has just been published on “how time is distributed” among Europeans in nine countries of the EU and Norway.
