29/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - As foreseen, the sub-committee on security and defence of the EP's Committee on Foreign Affairs has elected German Christian Democrat Karl von Wogau as its chairman. Mr von Wogau has been MEP since 1979 and for many years was chairman of the economic and monetary affairs committee. Vice-chairpersons are Ana Maria Gomes (PES, Portugal), Girts Valdis Kristovskis (UEN, Latvia) and Michal Brejc (EPP-ED, Slovenia).
