Belgium found guilty of failing to properly treat urban waste water

Luxembourg, 09/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Justice has found Belgium guilty of the behaviour of its regions in failing to transpose the 1991 Urban Waste Water Directive. The European judges rejected the Belgian government's explanation that the delays in treating and collecting waste water in line with the directive were due to a series of institutional, technical and financial problems.
