3.4 million EUR for Cyprus' fishing programme

Brussels, 09/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Commission announced that 3.4 million EUR will be granted to the "fisheries" programme of the Republic of Cyprus. This operational programme, extending from 1 May 2004 to 31 December 2006, is funded by the Financial Instrument for Fisheries Guidance (FIFG). Almost half of these funds will go to help to reduce the capacity of the fleet, putting an end to the use of certain boats. 44% will go to the modernisation of aquaculture,...
